 History
The New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (NZSATCM) established in 1989, is the longest-established educational institution of its kind in New Zealand. The School is dedicated to providing quality education enabling you to gain the knowledge and skills to reach your full potential in the specialised field of TCM. We take pride in ourselves for being a small education and training organisation. Small class sizes facilitate congenial teacher-student interaction. The library resources and online journals supplement teacher handouts. The opportunity to observe clinics and treat patients prepares you to be work-ready.

We operate in a multi-tasking and multi-skilling team environment where staff willingly step into each other's shoes to ensure that a critical function is satisfactorily accomplished in your best interest. Learning support is in place if you need extra tuition.

Quality Programs

We respect and appreciate that you have entrusted your professional education to us, and that in undertaking these programmes of study you are prepared to commit significant time and effort towards achieving a positive outcome. In return, we undertake to do our best to fulfil your expectations of us as a provider of the highest quality education in traditional Chinese medicine in New Zealand.

Over the years, the School has produced hundreds of graduates who are highly-skilled and meticulous TCM practitioners. The precise clinical skills acquired at the School are used to achieve accurate diagnoses and successful treatments, and enable graduates to work professionally in local and international environments.

The teaching curriculum prepares you to establish your own practice. Within two years of graduation, over 80% have established practices in New Zealand and overseas countries. We continually strive to ensure the education and training services are current, relevant and at an acceptable professional standard.

The school's range of certificate, diploma and degree programmes connect you to the workplace by ensuring the curriculum is current and relevant, and the contents are of the right mix of theory and practical skills. Our academic staircase enables you to attain multiple qualifications by gaining credits in lower-level studies towards a higher level qualification.

The level of study is demanding and will require your time and best efforts to achieve the professional standard.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire”.
